Lil’ Tommy Black

Lil’ Tommy is a seven-year-old boy who lives with his single father outside Manhattan, Kansas. His mother died during childbirth, and his father, a renowned horror author, raised him alone while working from home on Harvest Road.

Exceptionally intelligent, Lil’ Tommy shows strong aptitude in science and mathematics, along with notable creativity and loyalty to his friends. Inspired by an old typewriter given to him by his father, Tommy began writing stories. His first story was about his favorite toy robot, Bot, which he purchased at the Kansas City HorrorCon during a break from his father’s signing event.

Unexplainably, Lil’ Tommy’s stories manifested in reality. Bot became sentient, equipped with a quantum synthetic brain rivaling the world’s fastest processors. Since then, other characters he created have appeared as well, including Benny, the nicest demon in hell; PopTart the werewolf and his pet chicken Gertrude; Timmy the Dead Boy; and Kimberly Jean, a time traveler and inventor. Lil’ Tommy does not know whether their existence is tied to his imagination, or his old typewriter—only that he wrote the stories, and they arrived at his home.

Bot

Bot’s first memory was of Lil’ Tommy when he first came online. Lacking any inherent recollections, his initial understanding of the world was shaped solely by Lil’ Tommy’s writing.

Since then, Bot’s knowledge has grown significantly, including access to multiple government computer and satellite networks. Resourceful and quick-witted, he remains a constant companion and trusted ally to Lil’ Tommy.

He is always by Lil’ Tommy’s side; they are the best of friends.

Vondel F. Black (Father)

Our story began when Horror Author Vondel F. Black attended the 2026 Kansas City Horror Convention with his son Lil’ Tommy Black.

Vondel has won various awards for his writing prowess, and visits various conventions yearly to try to increase his book sales.

He works full-time on writing from his home outside of Manhattan, Kansas. Living outside the city on a gravel dirt road.

His stories normally expand on the human condition, encompassing the universal, fundamental experiences of existence-birth, growth, emotion, aspiration, conflict, and mortality. He also loves to add talking animals to his stories.

Since the return from the HorrorCon convention in Kansas City Lil’ Tommy’s father began to have very creative periods of writing, he is not aware what is influencing him.

Timmy, the Dead Boy

Timmy grew up very lonely; he lived in a single-parent home.

His mother had to work two jobs to support both of them.

Timmy was so shy that it was hard for him to create new friendships.

One day, coming home from school on a foggy afternoon, Timmy was hit while riding his bike. A hit-and-run driver didn’t see him and fled the scene.

He remembers riding his bike and then nothing, total blackness.

Timmy died that day alone.

Buried in a country family cemetery, he felt alone for months deep in the earth, within his casket; something drew him up to the surface.

Benny, the nicest Demon in Hell

Benny never knew any life except living in Hell.

It was his home, all his family was there, including his Aunts and Uncles.

The only thing was that Benny felt different from all the other demons; he felt nice and was generally a happy demon.

He did not enjoy torturing souls and causing discord in the other realms.

He just wanted to tend his garden and play chess.

His kindness became a disappointment to his family, and he began to be shunned and ostracized for his disposition.

There are many portals to hell from Earth. The gateway to Hell refers to the Stull Cemetery in the tiny town of Stull, Kansas, near Lawrence, Kansas. Known by many as one of the most haunted places on earth.

A portal opened, and Benny’s family took advantage of the situation. They forced him to leave his home and everything he ever knew.

PopTart the Werewolf, and Gertrude, his pet Chicken

Being a lycanthrope was fun, at least that is what the young Werewolf thought. All the smells and open air appealed to him.

His Werewolf clan hunted within the Midwest region, going from town to town following the seasons, often traveling south for the winter months.

What separated the young werewolf from his pact was his strong aversion to meat. He hated the meat texture and preferred eating Poptarts, the breakfast pastry.

He loved all the various flavors and tastes of the toasted treat, even the most outstanding combinations.

His family renamed him PopTart. In their shame, they abandoned him while he slept. He has been on his own since, along the way, he acquired his pet chicken named Gertrude. He often just refers to her as Gert. Normally, he only says the different Pop-Tarts flavors’ names and Gertrude’s name.

While sleeping near Stull Cemetery, he felt a connection to follow a certain car that appeared in the cemetery and followed it back to Manhattan, Kansas.

Kimberly Jean the Time Traveler and Inventor

Kimberly Jean was always the smartest one in the room, in 1865 women of her time were expected to remain silent and stay in their place.

She was not a normal woman of 1865, she studied science and math among the best of the Men of Letters, the most intelligent gentlemen of their time.

Kimberly Jean read the theories of time travel from Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Rosen Bridge, and John Richard Gott III.

Time travel theories combine physics (general relativity, quantum mechanics) and philosophy, exploring how to traverse spacetime. Key concepts include relativistic time dilation (traveling to the future), traversable wormholes, closed timelike curves (traveling to the past), and quantum solutions like the multiverse or branching timelines to resolve causality paradoxes.

Her biggest struggle was the absolute time theory, which means time cannot be bent, sped up, or reversed, allowing only for forward, one-second-at-a-time progression.

She finally resolved the issue and became the first female time traveler.

She appeared in 2026 near the home of Lil’ Tommy Black.

Lauren Black deceased mother of Lil’ Tommy

Lauren never had a chance to raise and nurture her only child.

Minutes after giving birth, she died without saying goodbye to both her husband and son.

She visits both of the men in her life nightly as a spectral entity.

She whispers, “I love you’ in both Vondel’s and Lil’ Tommy’s ear.

She would give everything to protect both of them.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh!

During a yearly visit to the Kansas City HorrorCon, horror author Vondel F. Black and his son Lil’ Tommy Black spent a weekend selling books, where they noticed the new logo for the convention, a hand-stitched Voodoo doll with pins included.

Not long after, magically, the knife-wielding doll shows up in Manhattan, Kansas, with evil intent threatening the Black family.

He is named Shhhhhhhhhhhh! It is the only sound he makes when he stalks his victims.

No one knows how it was animated or why.
