Lil’ Tommy Black

Lil’ Tommy is a seven-year-old boy who lives with his single father outside Manhattan, Kansas. His mother died during childbirth, and his father, a renowned horror author, raised him alone while working from home on Harvest Road.

Lil’ Tommy loves his father, but he often feels alone because his father is always working and gets distracted easily.

One Christmas, he received a toy robot he named Bot. The toy traveled everywhere with him. Lil’ Tommy spent hours talking to him about his dreams and aspirations.

Exceptionally intelligent, Lil’ Tommy demonstrates a strong aptitude for science and mathematics, along with notable creativity and loyalty to his friends.

On the fateful visit to Stull, KS. cemetery Lil’ Tommy’s world changed. He now had six other friends to share his life with.

Bot became sentient and shared Lil’ Tommy’s vision of the future. The other five, Benny, Timmy, Kimberly, PopTart, and Shhhhh, helped start the Haunt Inc Mystery Group.

They continue to go on horror research adventures for Lil’ Tommy’s dad, but now they have their own agenda. The goal is to take the Scare out of Scary.

Bot

Bot was Lil’ Tommy’s favorite toy robot, who often accompanied him on many adventures.

The toy robot became sentient when it was struck by lightning at the Stull Cemetery; its internal system was altered, which equipped it with a quantum synthetic brain rivaling the world’s fastest processors.

Bot’s first memory was of Lil’ Tommy leaning over him as it came online. Lacking any inherent recollections, its initial understanding of the world was shaped solely by Lil’ Tommy and Google.com.

Since then, Bot’s knowledge has grown significantly, including access to multiple government computers and satellite networks. Resourceful and quick-witted, he remains a constant companion and trusted ally to Lil’ Tommy.

Characteristics (approx. 12”, 50 lbs)

Multiple sensors, including eyes, antennae, a torso, a midsection, and a helmet. Foot pads and foot thrusters, extending neck, arms, legs, pincher claws, lit sensor lights on his torso, and an audible speaker. He continues to add different functions to his internal systems, always adapting to whatever adventure arises.

Bot located a WWII bunker under their home off Harvest Road outside Manhattan, KS.

After performing Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR) (a non-destructive geophysical method that uses high-frequency electromagnetic radar pulses to image the subsurface).

Lil Tommy decided it would make a wonderful new clubhouse for their new paranormal group, “Haunted Inc Mystery Group”. They called it “The Bunker”.

Bot and Kimberly Jean built four robots (01-04) to perform the renovations. The robots were then redesigned to be used for security and support.

Vondel F. Black (Father)

Horror Author Vondel F. Black often travels with his son Lil’ Tommy Black to various haunted locations to become inspired by the ambiance of a location and its story. This particular time, they went to Stull, Kansas Cemetery, for research for his new book. The drive was 1.5 hours, and they arrived at 3:00 am, the witching hour. Many people would say this wasn’t good parenting to have your child in a haunted cemetery in the early hours, Lil’ Tommy would agree.

Vondel has won various awards for his writing prowess, and he often tries to increase his book sales by taking known urban folklore and adding a twist to the plot.

He works full-time on writing from his home outside of Manhattan, Kansas. They live outside the city on a gravel dirt road named Harvest Road. Twin gargoyles sit above his roof as you drive up the driveway.

His stories normally expand on the human condition, encompassing the universal, fundamental experiences of existence-birth, growth, emotion, aspiration, conflict, and mortality. He also loves to add talking animals to his stories.

Since the return from Stull, Kansas, Lil’ Tommy’s father began to have very creative periods of writing. Not meaning to, he often neglects his son for long periods at a time. He seems unaware of the emotional damage he has caused to his son by being such a narcissist.

Timmy, the Dead Boy

Timmy grew up in a farming community in the small town of Stull, KS.

Their farm was one of the larger farms in the area.

His father worked from sunup to sunset daily, taking care of the fields and animals, and his mother cared for their home and her two children.

Timmy’s sister Kimberly was a marvel. She knew everything and could fix all the farm equipment from spare parts.

Timmy was so shy that it was hard for him to create new friendships, and he spent most of his time alone.

Timmy died at the age of seven on the farm and was buried at the Stull Cemetery. His family deeply grieved for him. They were never the same.

Timmy remembers nothing of that day except total blackness.

He lay in his coffin dead for years until 2026, when he felt his spirit being pulled upwards to the surface.

He now has his sister back and a new family to watch over.

He cannot communicate except for facial expressions unless he is using his Magic Slate Board. The board allows him to write on it to share his ideas and thoughts. He can manifest enough energy to hold the board for long periods of time.

He has also been working on a sort of limited ghost possession. Timmy has mastered the ability to inhabit a living person’s body. He has total control of the body, but only for three minutes.

Benny, the nicest Demon in Hell

Benny never knew any life except living in Hell.

It was his home, all his family was there, including his Aunts and Uncles.

The only thing was that Benny felt different from all the other demons; he felt nice and was generally a happy demon.

He did not enjoy torturing souls and causing discord in the other realms.

He just wanted to tend his garden and play chess.

His kindness became a disappointment to his family, and he began to be shunned and ostracized for his disposition.

During an insurrection that rumbled through Hell, Benny feared for his life, becoming a target for the more radical Demons. He fled towards the open portal to earth, trying to save his life.

There are many portals to hell from Earth. The gateway to Hell refers to the Stull Cemetery in the tiny town of Stull, Kansas, near Lawrence, Kansas. Known by many as one of the most haunted places on earth.

Benny found a new tribe to join, and now he has finally found happiness.

PopTart the Werewolf, and Gertrude, his pet Chicken

Being a lycanthrope was fun, at least that is what the young Werewolf thought. All the smells and open air appealed to him.

His Werewolf clan hunted within the Midwest region, going from town to town following the seasons, often traveling south for the winter months.

What separated the young werewolf from his pact was his strong aversion to meat. He hated the meat texture and preferred eating Poptarts, the breakfast pastry.

He loved all the various flavors and tastes of the toasted treat, even the most outstanding combinations.

His family renamed him PopTart. In their shame, they abandoned him while he slept. He has been on his own since, along the way, he acquired his pet chicken named Gertrude. He often just refers to her as Gert. Normally, he only says the different Pop-Tarts flavors’ names and Gertrude’s name.

While sleeping near Stull Cemetery, he felt a connection to follow a certain car that appeared in the cemetery and followed it back to Manhattan, Kansas.

Kimberly Jean the Time Traveler and Inventor

Kimberly Jean’s intelligence was well beyond her time in 1865. Women from her time period were expected to maintain the household and cater to others.

Her brother Timmy died in Stull, Kansas, in 1865, which caused her untold grief; she spent all her free time afterwards studying.

She was not a normal woman; her studies included science, math, and engineering. Among the Men of Letters of the day, she was a jewel of their time.

Kimberly Jean read the theories of time travel from Sir Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Rosen Bridge, and John Richard Gott III.

Time travel theories combine physics (general relativity, quantum mechanics) and philosophy, exploring how to traverse spacetime. Key concepts include relativistic time dilation (traveling to the future), traversable wormholes, closed timelike curves (traveling to the past), and quantum solutions like the multiverse or branching timelines to resolve causality paradoxes.

Her biggest struggle was the absolute time theory, which means time cannot be bent, sped up, or reversed, allowing only for forward, one-second-at-a-time progression.

She finally resolved the issue and became the first female time traveler.

For no explained reason, she appeared in 2026 at the Stull Cemetery during Lil’ Tommy’s visit, the same cemetery her brother was buried at.

Shhhhhhh!

No one knows the origin of the psychotic voodoo doll named Shhhhhhh.

He has various hand-stitched scars, and one stitched eye and one button eye. It’s facal expression always remains the same, giving it an unworldly presence.

Shhhhhhh, is 12 inches tall and appears to have been crocheted out of rustic brown yarn.

Shhhhhhh is the only sound it makes; the audible pitch is always soft, and it only whispers it when it is actively seeking a target.

Of all the team of Haunt Inc, Shhhhhhh is the most volatile, often not following the plan, or having it’s own agenda. What is certain Shhhhhhh will always support his friends, just not in the way they would like.

It sleeps in a dog bed at night, curled up with its kitchen knife like a teddy bear, which it carries everywhere it goes.

Shhhhhhh, like the other members showed up at the Stull Cemetery that fateful day. No one knows how it was animated or why. If you ever hear it utter the sound Shhhhhhh, you will feel a shudder down your back.

Bot Sentries

01-04

After the adventure of Stull, KS Lil’ Tommy and his new friends decided living in his bedroom was getting crowded. Plus, Kimberly needed a little privacy.

Bot and Kimberly built their first computer that could perform Ground-Penetrating Radar (GPR); they had to find some special parts that helped with that.

Bot found a WWII bunker deep underground below their house; someone had built it previously.

Lil Tommy decided it would make a wonderful new clubhouse for their new paranormal group, “Haunted Inc Mystery Group”. They called it “The Bunker”.

To help with the digging and renovations, Bot and Kimberly, using Bot’s original design, built four sentry robots to complete those tasks. Bot named them 01, 02, 03, and 04. They are very physically efficient, but cannot process information as fast as Bot.

Afterward, the bots were upgraded to be used for security and support.

They have simple replies when spoken to, and often stay in their charging tubes when not in use. They can operate without command prompts, but the result is unpredicable.

Number 004 keeps wanting to be called “Evin”, but so far, Bot has refused.
